Welcome to my website. For nearly 20 years, I have been working therapeutically with adults. I offer short-term, long-term psychotherapy and counselling both face to face and on Skype. I also supervise individuals and groups and run training workshops.
My interest in this field stems from my teenage years when I first started to read around the subject. Since then I have completed many years of formal training. I continue my professional development by reading and attending various courses, seminars and workshops .
My experience as a psychotherapist and counsellor is broad. I worked for an in-house EAP (Employee Assistance Programme) at a large corporation for two years. I currently work both for charitable organisations and in private practice. As an associate for various EAPs, I receive corporate referrals for short-term therapy. I am registered with various health insurers.
Over the years my work has involved being a tutor and lecturer on counselling training courses here and overseas, and I currently offer continuing professional development workshops.
I see individuals with a wide spectrum of issues ranging from work-related difficulties, such as stress, lack of confidence, relationship management and bullying, to more general challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, loss, history of abuse, trauma, managing change and periods of transition (eg starting university or college), personal growth and search for meaning and purpose. It is impossible to name all the issues I have worked with over the years but I believe that many that we face are helped by revisiting our patterns of relating to others and to ourselves. Awareness and self-understanding enables the possibility of change. And we can really benefit from taking a step back and reviewing where we are in our lives and what we might want to do differently. This not only helps us to develop our potential but to become wiser and more effective in our relationships with others and with ourselves.
